I check my return pump and it seems to be working fine and I have a restrictor on my oil feed so I don't know why it pushed oil out. Anybody have any ideas? The turbo is brand new so the it shouldn't have oiling problems but you never know. Oh yeah, this was at part throttle with only 6psi.

I think your return pump will turn backwards if the connections are reversed so check that out and also check that it is going to high speed when you are under boost. It is probably not the turbo but a problem with too much feed pressure or volume or the return pump is not working correctly. You can take the line off the filler tube and see if oil is being returned. It will not be a constant flow because it is a small volume normally and will tend to come out in short gushes.
Your instructions should explain how to test the high speed system. If you short the hoobs switch to ground you should be able to hear the pump speed up to indicate that it is going to high speed under boost. I have no restrictor in mine and the only time I have had a problem was when the weather was really cold and the oil was too thick and built up back pressure behind the pump. In the winter I drive with the pump on high speed all the time with a switch I mounted in the cab.

Good luck figuring it out!

he called me today and we are trying to figure it out. I'm pretty sure its not the turbo either.

I believe my problems are solved and the truck seems to like the new turbo. Rob over at Modular Turbo gave me a few ideas and now she is running smooth. I'm getting my tune nailed down and it feels strong. The mp70 spools as quick as the 60-1 in my opinion and the drivability is much better with the 4 inch intake. The 60-1 really seems to choke up the motor out of boost compared to the 70. This turbo deffinitely seems to be worth the money.

New update. I did some tuning tonight and this thing is fun. I have it pretty dialed in at 11psi, 11.4-11.5 AFR and 17 degrees of timing and it feels strong. The mp70 does spool a little slower the first time you boost it but after the exhaust gets hot it spools really fast. I have the .81 housing and it still spools quick. I punched it from a 10mph roll in 2wd and as soon as it spooled up it spun through first gear and left about 150 foot set of black marks in second. 4wd is just sick. I have maxed out my 42lb injectors and a 625 meth nozzle so its time to throw in my second meth nozzle and see what this little motor can handle. Am I crazy to spray two 625 nozzles and see if it will hold 14psi?
