MPT70 t70 guys-spool rpm?
Hey guys, My project car is up and running n/a, and I was just wondering after I put on the Masterpower t70, what type of rpm am I looking at having this thing spool at? I have a 4.8L, ls1 cam and intake, and on the street will run 8psi, and track will be 14-15psi.
Thanks
John

It all depends on what a/r turbine housing you choose, and what trim inducer wheel it uses. Example, my brother has a .96 a/r P-trim T70 and I have a 1.0 a/r Q-trim T70. His turbo will spool a fair amount quicker than mine on the street. It really depends on what your looking for out of the setup.

How much more power can you expect from the q trim? I am shooting for low 600's at the wheels, for track duty and around 500whp for the street. I was looking at the basic .96a/r, but if I need more I guess I can go up,

I'm not positive but I think foose was running a PT67... you might have a bit much lag on the street with a Q trim on the 4.8. I didn't see that in your first post. If you plan on increasing cubes in the future it might be worth it, but otherwise you would probably be better off the the .96 a/r P trim. The best advice I could give you would be to ditch your LS1 stuff and pick up a LS6 cam and truck intake. The LS6 cam is cheap and runs awesome with turbos. Unless you are putting it in a small car the truck intake is a better option.

thanks for the responses guys! Yeah this is in a car (Ford Probe), so I have to have the LS1 intake. I have the cam because it was 25 bucks, I am just in the start of having the car on the road, so there will be improvements, but can there really be that much of a difference from the ls1 cam to an ls6 on boost?

That's crazy, I thought it would be too good of a N/A cam to work that well, I'll keep looking and if I can get one for a good price I'll snag it.
So I think I will keep with the .96 P trim, and I plan on running a water to air intercooler, anyone have any good luck with those? I plan to run an Ice bath at the Drag Strip, so along with my E85 I'll have nice 50-60 degree intake temps.....
