I wondered if it was worth it for a mostly DD truck that'll see track maybe 1x a month. Maybe twice, here or there.
I didn't know if a bigger HX or a bigger reservoir would be the better solution.
Sounds like a bigger (or better if u like that word) HX is preferred.
I got a price on a bigger HX.I think the answer to your big red question is both, actually.

But, if u had to pick 1, which guys would pick?
That's more along lines of what I meant, but today I was told do the HX, as stock reservoir would be fine. I'm not wanting to do this for DD use, just for track. Funny, how little time I'll be at track in relation to everyday usage.

Dry ice is super-cooled carbon dioxide which has a boiling point of around -180 degrees F. When it is heated it goes from a solid straight to a gas, called sublimation, and if you remember gas takes up a lot more volume than a solid so there is a ton of pressure in whatever vessel it sublimated in....be it a water bottle or whatever. Basically, it explodes.

Looks like the larger tank has a benefit for lowering IAT's.(after all). Most threads I've read lately say to ditch the larger holding tank and go for the larger intercooler. The gains may be higher with a larger intercooler vs larger tank, but your gains with just a larger tank were significant and more than I would have guessed. I think you just proved previous threads to be inaccurate and backed it up with your data. The combination of adding a larger tank AND larger IC should really help to lower your IAT's.

A large tank allows ICE to be used at the track, and allows a larger amount of water for your standard street stuff. The HX really only needs to be switched out if your water temps keep going up while driving. If your air temps are stable and the water is cooler then those temps increasing the HX size probably will not help that.
IF your temps go up and climb or take a HUGE amount of time to come down after a hard blast then thats a sign of the HX not being large enough to get the heat out of the system.
HX requires air flow over it so drag racing it really does not see air flow until you get over 30mph.
Hopefully have a new larger IC for the maggies soon.

Mine started out as some scrap metal i found at work.. chopped it up and overlapped everything.
in the truck..
It would hold almost 10# of ice
Put a fuel cell top on it and painted it flat black.
