Default My new A2W Intercooler

After a heat wave we had here not so long ago I decided to pull the trigger on doing an intercooler for my setup. Whipple never made one for my kit so I decided to make one work. I gathered what I needed and brought my truck over to Synergy and let Rick work his magic. Many thanks to Rick for the great job he did on the intercooler and my pre-blower cross pipe.

Setup:
A2W Intercooler - core size: 10"x4.5"x4.5"
Heat exchanger - core size: 12"x24"x1"
Pump - Johnson CM30P7-1
Hoses - 3/4" ID
Reservoir - Magnacharger Radix tank

- Test fitted and mounted the heat exchanger first then brought the truck to Synergy.

- Finished up mounting the tank, pump, routing the hoses and wiring.

I warmed up the truck to operating temp and went for a 20 min test drive. I just cruised around just barely going into boost. I'm going to have Rick do some tuning before I do any WOT runs.

Outside temp was 60*F (thats what my mirror said). Before the intercooler at this outside temp my IAT's were around 140*F (cruising). Now with the intercooler my IAT's never went above 80*F (cruising). When I got back and just idled for a couple of minutes at my house the temps went up to to 86*F without the e-fans on.

These are just preliminary results, can't wait to see what the IATs are during WOT.

Archie! That looks great. Rick did a great job of getting all those tubes in that freaking tight space! I can't wait to see you run it on the 16th with me! 20* over ambient is great, now get it tuned!

Nice! Looks like it belongs there. Dosn't look like the aftercooler takes up much more room that the plastic air duct did.

Looks great dude. I am digging that 1" thick HX, mine is a 12" x 21" Fluidyne with a 3.5" core. I cant help but think the larger thinner one like you have would work better though. Very nice....
