Default My New Build *** 454 LSX TVS2300+***

Yes NO JOKE! Looking for a big torque/ low boost set-up! Rotating assembly was dropped of yesterday. I have again contracted TPIS for this build, the LSX block was already on hand as hit the top 5 in last years AMSOIL engine masters challange, It seemed to be the perfect fit for my needs. Forged GM 4.125 crank and rods, wiseco pistons and future plans including Another Set of WCCH Custom set of ls3/ls7 allpro 6 bolt heads.

*** Let the Official 454 LSX TVS2300 Suburban build Begin.***

Desired features: Drivabilty, and huge tq to tow when needed and still have that WOW OH ****! factor when my wife drives it. No more track time for this one! ok maybe once.
Two much has already been invested for it to pull minivan type duties.

My new blower plates have hit full production. So i am putting a new mix to it for this large cubed monster! MORE THICKNESS!
It will have a newly designed plate Modified by TRICK with the abilty for nitrous or meth. Custom enlarged inlet for a direct fit 102mm Throttle body provided by TPIS as well.

Its gonna be EPIC! lol

And what i have learned from the LSX427 TVS2300 I removed, It is gonna be FAST in the new Camaro.

two builds one wallet = OUCH!

FIRST QUESTION!

What cam would you choose?

Why a tvs2300, seems like a crappy choice for so many cubes.

Thats gonna be nasty, but I agree you will be limited with the 2300 for total power output. A bigger blower like the 3.3 or 3.8 whipple would be nasty...should be ultra responsive though. Very similiar to the 408+tvs1900 setup I had, just bigger

For a cam something like 227/240 on a 117 would probably be good for an engine that size.

That is close to what is in the 427 currently on a 114 5* total overlap, duration seems light for the 454 though. IMO
See i am thinking, with the right cam profile, and Blower drive ratio, it will build HUGE TQ starting off idle, and maybe 6-8 psi top end, while keeping out of boost @70 mph.

Run a stock 6-rib 3.6 pulley up front with the 10 rib rear drive.

thinking of dropping the 3.73 to 3.42's as well.

maybe Blown Chevy will help with some of the math as far as blower spin.

The math isn't that tough. If you'll give me all four of the pulley diameters, I can give you blower speed at whatever rpm you choose.

Kool!

stock dia balancer for starters. 3.6 front and I need the od numbers from someone other than me, i think 3.0/3.4 not sure. Both of my superchargers are at the shop so i can't run out in to the garage and look.

cruise will be @ 2100 rpm

I'll assume a 7.5" balancer, 3.6 front, 3.5 rear driver, and 3.0 rear driven. My vette TVS came with the 3" and 3.5" on the rear.

Unless my fuzzy math is wrong, multiply engine speed by 2.43 to get blower speed. At 2100rpm the blower will be spinning about 5100 rpm. At 6000 rpm, about 14,580. That won't be near enough to keep a 454 happy....That's only slightly faster than a front drive with a 3.1" pulley.

Where is that big crank pulley pic that was floating around a few years ago. I need one!
