I was like WTF trying to read that post!!

Thunder - Have you tried some uhhhhhhhhhhhhh.........Liquid Nails?

I HAD to say that and I am sorry for it.

Type Buna in the search there. Find a washer or gasket or whatever to tighten the bulkheads fitting against.

I haven't looked at a windshield washer tank in a while. Is there anyway you could put some grease in a socket, put the bulkhead nut and washer in there and get them on with a long extension?

OK here's what I did....1/2" pipe thread close nipple. Two 1/2" nuts, and a 1/2" pipe to 3/8" flare adapter. From top to bottom, goes like this:

Adapter
Nut
O-ring
Close nipple
Washer tank
Nut

How I described earlier worked out ok....just dropped one nut in the tank, and was able to get it lined up down in the bottom. Stuck my thumb through the washer tank hole and the nut, flipped the tank upside down so the nut was sitting right on the inside surface of the washer tank. Threaded the 1/2" close nipple through and managed to get it threaded into the nut, and it tightened down just fine even without a wrench on the inside nut. Seems to be holding without any problem. No sealants for the meth to eat through this time, except some gas and oil rated thread tape. Hopefully that will hold...but with pipe thread I'm thinking that the flare will seal fine even without the tape. We will see.

Stainless or brass nipples? Sounds like a much better set up than the push in grommet deal. Do you happen to have any pictures?
