Those crazy guys did, if I remember correctly, a one-off 10-rib on a C5. Heh, trucks wouldn't have to move the steering rack to go 10-rib

I was told that it was ECS that fixed the entire situation for more grip too..

some notes.

Shop is closed till after the new year, no talk on numbers and availability yet, certain parts are still being sent out to be fabricated and allocated.

the elbow inlet into the head unit and the air box are aluminum in teh pictures. Production will be plastic as I'm told.

Those spal fans, shroud and controller were necessitated because I had a clutch fan on the 3/4 ton sub. The spal controller was less money and is a better piece than the Gm unit. This will be optional and a few bucks more

We removed some plastic sorta skid plate thing (having looked at it while changing oil I thought it was metal but laughed when it was in the back of the truck and plastic) probably possible to trim it and hack it etc. But it really didn't appear to offer any protection from anything but leaves or snow...

Notice the braided line coming down from the head unit for the oil drain. In the old days it was a blast wedging something under my P1SC to catch the oil, 7K recommended intervals, this is the second self contained head unit they've dealt with. Supposedly its paxton's own special oil.

injectors required adapters and spacers for the rails (I know LS2's need this as well, I'd be guessing on trucks)

factory tensioner was relocated, manual adjustable tensioner puts approx 75% belt wrap around the blower pulley.

upper trans line had to be extended a bit, 37 deg flare tool will be on you.

Since it seems the majority of guys here have the previous body style trucks.....do you forsee any major areas that would prohibit this kit from working? Plan is to throw it on a 03 avalanche as well, but that might be a while, after realizing the sub is probably faster than him.....he's building a 402 first...

hope you guys enjoy the **** (or was it ****?), I can't wait till we sort out the computer headaches (just realized somehow I lost my remote start too...) seems like the software is glitchy and not responding as we'd hope...should have better numbers and information to offer after the new year.

have a great holiday guys.

i think the stock e-fans stick out more than the spals. the trans line should be able to go under the tube. other than the inlet being close it looks good and should clean up nicely after they do a few trucks

bleeds off pressure on deceleration (hence the vacuum line coming off of it) Otherwise You're forcing more air because of the mechanical rotation of the blower into the motor than the motor is looking for. when the surge valve sees vacuum it opens up and prevents problems. Similar to a blow-off valve in turbo applications. Sometimes you'll see surge valves on centrifugals circulating the air to the inlet side of teh blower, but the guys at ecs have found it better to use this method.

out of boredom and having too much time on our hands in october a buddy and I tried my novi 2000 with teh C5 brackets on his avalanche (like an 04 or 05 with stock E fans) and it was even worse. we were thinking of two smaller offset units, or a larger central unit or something. I agree its a tight fit, but it works.

On the trans line, there's probably other variables there, no argument, this one just went the easiest with teh least headaches and no worries, under would have been quite interesting, but wasn't going ot make an inlet the easiest thing in the world..

ECS makes some nice kits though I miss when they used to use the Procharger units they were noiser but made more power. We installed a number of their kits and A&A kits at the shop I worked at and ECS definitely had the nicest bracket setup of the two.

Look forward to some pricing.

Honestly I would be afraid to make too much more power on a stock motor.

This should be a nice setup once things get completely worked out. ECS has a great rep with the Vette guys. I drooled over their kits when I had the Vette but I didn't really feel the need for more power on it.
