Way off topic here but the new body style 2500 -3/4 ton's they have the 14 bolt rear end.

Ive been looking for a black on black 8100 for ever to trade in my G500.. gave up on that and will order a new 08 when my G sales. None of the dealers stock them here and they dont know jack about them... everyone in my town drives diesels.. or they have regular burbans.

about the warranty, I thought GM use to say as long as the motor has not been gone into you still had your warranty.. So a blower should not cause any problems.

Have you thought about headers etc.. i know you said you didnt want them, But i think Chevy High performance did a motor and said they picked up 75 hp with tuning, headers and rocker arms or soemthing along those line.. Im sure 75 will not come with a blower but i would think it would help.
big difference 4L60-4L80 about 100 lbs without convertors. The 3/4 tons all have had 9.5 inch semi floater 14 bolts, the diesels have the 9.5 inch full floaters. 3/4 tons are not the easiest to come by, I picked this truck up out of inventory, for every 30-40 1500 subs in the NYC metro area, there was 1 2500.....now try to find a loaded black on black one with that, I got close, this has everything but 4.10's and the tow mirrors (which I prefer the base power folding ones living in the city...I've taken at least 10 probably 20 mirrors off the old truck since 2000, to the point I travel with extra mirror glass in the truck.)

as for headers and crap, I'm not looking to race this pig, made that mistake with teh last one and put WAY too much money into and now when it should get sold I"m getting pennies on the dollar for it. Headers are decent unloaded but in the dead of summer pulling 5 mile long 5% grades with 10K lbs on the back bumper, I don't want to worry about headers...good old manifolds will get the job done. As much as they helped the NA motor, they'll help even more with boost, but I have no desire to deal with the possible drawbacks of headers, if there's a way to break a part, I will break it...I'm far from gentle on my vehicles.

Pretty sure the Diesels and 8100 have the 11.5" full floater, while the 6.0L gas ones have a 10.5" full floater.

ya know I was wrong, one time I was at the tire guy and there was a 2500 duramax pickup getting some crap done next to the sub, Best guess looking at my rear cover is I have the same 9.5 inch 14 bolt that i threw into the taho years ago (the tahoe one was from a 454 ss donor from years back) the diesel had what I thought was the 10.5 but who knows it could have been the 11.5 but was definetely bigger than the 14 bolt in my 6.0 gasser. Now if the dumbasses at GM would just offer me a bigger motor.......this thread wouldn't be necessary, I'll take a bigger rear wit a bigger motor

No joke.

I didnt buy a 06 8100 because the rep was at the dealer ship and said wait two months and you can get some of the fist 07 body styles. So my dad ordered two denalies and i waited to get the new body style with the 8100... Gm screwed us..

I want black on black as well... all options 4:10 tow mirrors, navi everthing and the kitchen sink. There is one e bay right now. but it has 373's....

You sound like me with the broken parts deal. I just dont have good luck...

the 6.2 in the danali run good.. im sure its slow compaired to your supercharged burban but for a stock suv they are kinda impressive..

I hear ya, my cousin has an 06 armada for the wife, his was like 41-42 out the door loaded, my sub was 47,500 before taxes which put it back to about the 53 sticker. I would have demanded a diesel first, 8.1 second, but got stuck with this 6.0 which gets it done, but doesn't like the hills with teh big trailer. The plan was a maggie, but the guys called me and said......we're taking your truck from you and puttin a blower on it and you don't have a choice. Hell right now they have my 00 vette and the suburban and my trailer....hopefully I get it all back sunday....and hopefully we'll get better numbers, i haven't heard any status reports on the sub, but the vette is close to done at least. I was told I need to stick to dead bodies (I'm a undertaker, the sub and tahoe are 'work' trucks) and not working on cars, after swapping the entire driveline in the vette and hacking a few things (hell it was my first time with a C5, sue me)

LoL...

The armadas are nice. we went looking at those and the denali, but when we got the 06 armada the denali was still the old body style and we had a new kid so had to geting something asap. It tows very well. ive pull my G500 with it, that 6K and my trailer is 3K.. Actully it gets to speed and stays at curise better than the 6.0L gas truck we have and it has 4:10 gears. Then again the truck doesent puke all over the parking lot after you tow with it.

the plan is get the wife a 08-09 denali. she just doesent drive a lot. her armada just turnd 17K miles and we got it in april of 06.

You vette sound awsome, ive got a 67 vette with a nasty small block.. if my supra sale's i think im going to look into a 69 camaro with a Big big block and twin's

at any rate keep me posted for sure. Im not sure ill do a blower at 8K miles but im ready for full line of bolt on's and playing with that torque managent.

Speaking of diesel, my dad told me GM told him to look for a 5.9L? ( this comming from pops so who knows) baby D max in late 08 as a 2009 model... Knowing Gm thought that will have a $11K bump for the diesel and make it a $65K burban

its a 4.5 liter diesel. I asked the GM reps at sema a ton of junk bout this exact truck when I was there, and was told when I asked when will I see this on a showroom floor so I can trade in my 07 with a pathetic 6.0, they said 'not in this body style'.

like you said it'll be another 10 grand I bet...the quarters are doofy I hate ostrich skin interiors, the pickup nose is pretty ghey as well...but hell it has a diesel...hopefully they come to their senses and offer it more widestream. I think its rated like 330/520 or somethin

um......I'm waiting for the graph to get emailed, the truck is still on the dyno.....and everyone is scratching their heads.

turns out at 4K there's variable cam timing or some junk and the timing jumps up 10 degrees, so that was the knock we were getting, adn thats why it woke up at 4 grand.

Just for the sake of arguement how do peak numbers of 538/516 work out?
