Then another pressure sensor betwixt the blower and intercooler, to compare with the MAP reading, to see if the I/C is restrictive.
Well unfortunately nothing larger than that whipple tube is going to fit back there against the firewall. So i guess i am going to have to live with 6.5lbs of boost for now. I guess i could run it without the tube to see if thats it but it has an i.d. of 3.75"....so it should be okay. Thats the same size as the opening of the throttle body anyway.

I just wish there were another human being on this board with an 8.1L and Whipple like me.....to see if they were having better luck. Something is screwy and I cant figure it out. Intercooler loss would be relative to pressure input so i doubt thats it. Maybe i need to look closer at belt slip and crank pulley slip.

I was refering to see if the IC was the restriction. Measuring boost before and after shows just how bad or good the IC is in relation to air flow. IF the core is a huge restrition you can add more to one side and see little change on the other.
Whipple I am bettign rates the blowers with no IC in the line up.
just a thought,

After some more testing...it looks like I AM seeing some belt slip. I picked up a .5" longer belt and slid my S/C idler as far to the right as i could to give maximum belt wrap. I am still only getting maybe 60% wrap at best, but its a little better than before. I am going to pick up a 100mm idler to replace the 76mm one that the Whipple came with. That should give me close to 75% wrap i hope.

Is there a way to figure what a 2.5" pulley "Should" be giving me as far as boost goes?

Nevermind, i went back and re-read James' explination. 22m^3 @ 10,300rpm input speed....i should be seeing 7psi without the intercooler. So i think at 13,500 input RPM i should be close to 8psi with the intercooler....if i am calculating correctly.

I have something you might try. The Kodak/Topkick have an 1" bigger crank pulley. You could run bigger blower pulley to help reduce belt slip.

Sweet! You got a part number handy? I will do some searching for that now.
