Yeah I had some of the hot parts off due to me getting ready to have a flex joint installed in the down pipe and a v-band clamp I found something very interresting there was a very noticeable rubb mark on the 3" down pipe where it had been hitting on the turbo manifold it looks as though it had been doing it for a while so ounce I have everything tigged back together tomorrow I will do some clearancing as well I would give my left extremity if that was the problem at any way I am sure the flex joint and the clearancing won't hurt!

Hopefully I can start on this when I get back next month to KC I would like to run 12lbs of boost and make over 500hp at the rear wheel, what do you guys think?
Good deal!!!!

Well I spent all this money for a 3" v-band assembly and a nice flex joint and spent alot of time measuring cutting and scribing how they need to be welded together, I even had them assembled for the guy and it still got goobered up I should of known when I showed up to pick the parts up and heard alot of popping, while he was tigging it instead of the nice buzzing sound, it was the worst tigs I have ever seen he even got the parts so hot that he warped the rings and before I dropped it off I explained that the pipe can't extend past the flange and not to mess the flanges up because they mate together, he tried to tell me to have napa resurface the flanges, so I made him clean the welds up and I ended up trimming the pipe out of the flange it seems to all work together and I didn't notice any leaks, I will probably have to use v-band seal later on, due to them being warped!

This is the kit that just keeps giving.
You sure it was tigged. Sounds like a mig, or the wrong gas etc. I will say this, it almost impossible to line everthing up on the truck take it off and go get it welded and it still fits in the end. If the flange was warped it would not sell.
The proper way to do Vband is one side has the pipe welded short, the other side has the pipe sticking out... This aids in alignment plus sealilng...
good luck hope it works out.

NO the original kit had a 3" down pipe that was in two pieces but they used a accuseal clamp to hold them together except it did not have a flex joint and it was a pain to take apart so I just cut a section out of the two and installed a flex joint and V-band clamp assembly so yeah I modified the kit just like the innercooler location moving behind my SS bumper, well it does run good just think the turbo is on it's way out and it needs a good tuner!
