Default NNBS VMax TVS, 6L90e Impressions

Well, it's finally done. Forged stock cube 6.0 liter with heads, headers, VVT cam by Mast Motorsports, PI 2800 converter, all installed at a local corvette shop owned by Doug Rippie.

I'd also like to thank those forum members who helped me get the information I needed to do the 4L70 to 6L90 swap.

I don't have 4wd yet because I'm waiting on a switch from GM. The first two gears in 2wd are almost useless. No dyno #'s yet but it was making 420+rwhp without the blower and a larger cam. This setup feels a lot faster. It doesn't take much peddle to really get the thing moving. With 4wd it should really launch.

Getting the 6sp part throttle shift points down is still a work in progress. The VVT definitely can create issues with the TVS by-pass valve. And when it surges I'd lift off the throttle a bit which would change the shift points based on TP.. which lead to stack shifting ect..

I can't really thrash on it because I'm having trouble logging and just have the WB. WOT timing is only at 14 degrees for now. With some additional tuning I'm hoping to move it up to 20 plus which will really wake it up....

Congrats!! I would be very interested in seeing what you have been able to do with the VVT combined with the FI ... what are you tuning with?

I might dyno it next week and should be able to play with it a bit. I'd like to see how much difference there is from the factory fully advanced at idle to retarding it 10 degrees. On a NA motor if does fatten up the power curve by 10+rwhp and a bit more TQ. I do know that more than 12 degrees really screws with the bypass on the TVS

I got the 1900. They said they could have had the 2300 kit ready but BlownChevy has spend to much time online and talking with the engineers and its put the project months behind.

IIRC advancing the cam angle produces more low end Tq while retarding it should produce more high end power. All of the FI tunes I have heard or read about so far park the cam at a specific angle and leave it there. I am hoping to be able to do some more tuning on my truck eventually to take advantage of the VVT but I am taking baby steps to learn more before I change anything at all.

Good luck on your tune and keep us posted!!

As long as he brings the 2300 with him.... lol He hasn't returned any of my post purchase PM's so I'm not sure if....

It is really fun to drive though... Contemplating NO2 or a larger crank pulley... It seems the pulley route is going to cost a grand... Crank pulley and smaller Water Pump pulley.........

I heard that it cant keep pushing the entire 1320...kinda like a 'new-old' 112

it sucks that you put it on and want to add more?? you are running 6psi? canned tune?

it also sucks that to pulley will cost so much$$
