Precision Turbo told me that they never recommend a feed restrictor. I guess I'll see how things go after I move the oil drain. Should be doing that tomorrow night.

 

hmm. i have had 3 precision turbos and never had to put a restrictor in the line but the one mp70 we have needed one.

 

I have Precision Turbo and evidently no restrictor so....FWIW.....?

 

does it have anything to do with the fact oil flows much faster into the ball bearing turbos and may not drain fast enough, but with the bushing turbos they limit the amount of oil that will flow through the turbo making them not need a restrictor?

 

i have never had a ball bearing turbo on anything.

 

Some turbo's have a restrictor built into the inlet of the cartridge and wouldn't need one. Check with the manufacturer.

 

I dont have any smoking problems and i have just what STS sent... -6 Line and about 60psi and 40ish psi idle.

Guess its luck of the draw?

 

Would oil getting into my intake under long boost, towing, be helped with an oil restrictor? I do not get smoke just oil in the intake. I have my turbo upgraded and rebuilt and it still sucks oil. I have the biggest air filter on the intake directly mounted to the turbo. I am going with a larger Wastegate to make it easier to blead off pressure while towing under lower boost. I dont know if this has anything to do wioth the intake oil but I hope it helps.
