Default Pistons and rods..best bang for buck

Building an LS2 for Maggie boost. Want to use LS2 block and stock crank. Looking for best piston/rod combo that will live long and not break the bank. Current blower (mp122) is good for 9psi with mild cam. Maybe 500rwhp. I want to build this hoping someone will want to get rid of a TVS2300 cheap (maybe 600+rwhp). I have Livernois stage II heads and might add a bigger cam (LS6 cam now) and a little nitrous to the equation. Thinking 10.5 c/r. Help appreciated.

What do u define as not breakin the bank? Give me a figure. Either together or pistons this much, rods this much type of thing. I always try to find stuff. IDK if this matters to you or not.

Some Howard's or Scat, or even Lunati outta be fairly reasonable price for rods. Say $400-700 range. Pistons could be all over the map, or u may have a brand u like. Myself, SRP is who will prolly get my hard-earned $$ for my other project. I'd consider others too, incl. Lunati.

Mahle pistons and eagle rods are a good bang for the buck. I've switched over to diamond pistons now for boost.

An oversight on my part. Mahle & Diamond, add to that list. Mahle is nice cause u get pistons, rings & they're coated too. IIRC, they include pins as well. 1 stop piston shopping & I was gonna mention them too. Diamond has embraced the "LS" since their inception.

Mahle Pistons and rings about $500, Scat I beam rods about $300. Pretty much the cheapest forged stuff your gonna find. Might find some forged Speed Pro/TRW pistons for less, but there quite a bit heavier. The Mahle pistons a quite light.

I'm WNW of Houston about 50 miles. Small town.....out in the sticks. I do make it to the track just west of Sealy every now and again. I try to stay fairly well behaved on the street.

What do you "get" with the higher priced pistons and rods? Don't have any interest in the cheap heavy stuff. I don't mind spending a few extra bucks if it gets more more reliability (and peace of mind). I think the engine would maybe top out at 750 flywheel hp. I don't plan on spinning it past 6000rpm. That's one of the beauties of the TVS. You don't have to spin the snot out of it to get good power.
