Pro-Charger Lag

Pro-Charger Lag
Hey guys,
I was just wondering if anyone else who had a D1-SC experienced pretty bad lag in third gear. I have 5.3L and 1st and 2nd gear it gets into boost pretty quickly. When it shifts into third, it is a dog and takes quite sometime to get into boost. I just wonder if the convertor is locked up too quickly in 3rd or what? It will absolutely scream in 1st and 2nd.
The truck is stock with 3.73's and is a RCSB. D1-SC with 4" pulley and 12 psi.
Thanks for the help!

My truck acted the same way when it was stock. And it acted the same way even with my new set up with a vig converter that flashed to 2400 rpm. I swaped converters and there is no more lag.
You can call Bull **** or what ever you want, Allen Nelson can back me up on this...
I switched from a converter that flashed 2400 rpm to one that flashes 3400 rpm and picked up 1.3 seconds and 5 mph in the 1/4.
You need a pretty loose converter to get that procharger working like it should. At least 3000 rpm if not more.

My radix used to be like that (boost starting over at each gear change) but since I added the performabuilt level 3 trans and the 3000 stall boost stays the same through all gear changes and no loss of rmp's through the gear changes..............just one continuous pull. The first few times going into full boost was weird because I was so used to the rpm drops between gears.

Thanks for the help guys...this is kind of what I figured would need to be done. I love the feel of first and second gear...but third sucks.
I wonder if I can have my tuner keep the convertor unlocked until later in the RPM band in third? I wonder if it would help? I know the ultimate best thing is a stall. I will have to check into a stall.

The truck will feel faster in the lower gears due to the short gear ratio.3rd gear will pull to 180mph probly so it's hard for the motor to torque with the heavy *** brick style truck in a higher gear.
If you want the most I would say a stall and 4.11 gears.
