The Vortec 5.7 L31 has 19 lb/hr injevctors, the factory injection runs at 60 psi and will limit power to under 400 hp at the crank or around 330 rearwheel hp. You will have to run a Marine intake or Ramjet intake or carb intake with fuel injectors. The stock Vortec GEN1-e intake manifold on the L30/31 (305/350) engines has the poppet style injectors actually inside the intake plenum. These and their supply hoses really block and impede flow.
It is rumpurd that above 12 psi that you will pop the stock Vortec plastic?aluminum manifold. The Marine intake manifold has a cast iron lower and aluminum upper, this should prove to withstand higher boost pressures. There are only 4 manifolds running on trucks in North America using teh stock PCM. This Marine intake manifold project has been in the works for several years now, with teh advent of Tunercat, the only tuning software for the 1996-20 Vortec 4.3, 395,350 and 454, being able to change the injector flow constant has allowed us to complete our conversions. James B. of this forum originally showed me pictures of a marine intake years ago.
Here is a Marine intake that I am currently running on my 1997 Vortyec 350, I am running 24 lb/hr injectors at 60 psi.

This intake started being used on the Vortec 350 by Mercrusier Marine in their boats, this inatke fuel both the 5.7 (350) and 6.2L9377,383) engines.
teh stock PCM can run ANY size fuel injector so long as it is HIGH IMPEDANCE, not peak and hold style.
You will need to use 1 of the manifolds above, you could use the stocker, with an FMU and extra injectors under the T-body, but you will have inherent fuel distribution problems.
Here is a link to our little Marine intake MPFI conversion on the PPE forum. There are 4 of us Marine intake Conversions up and running. I am NA 350, 1 is a 383NA, and 2 others are Whipple chargerd 35-'s.
