It depends on how often you get on it and driving habits. I would say I have a lot of dont's on the list of thing for this tranny at my power level..... I watch out for wheel spin then sudden hook while under power, I also never have it in 4th when I do roll-on's or race its 3rd only, Iv never let it shift into 4th under lots of power only while cursing(3-4 wot shift is set at 255mph) , Iv never down shifted it under power or to engine brake, I don't do donuts, I don't do burnouts while turning only while going straight, and my trans has never seen 200* it been 190's at the most, and in my tuning(at your own risk use these setting as Im not telling anyone how to tune there tranny by any means) I command max available line pressure via tuning at wot and during shifts via Forced Motor Current 10mA from 84psi up also 96psi shift pressure from 340ft.lb up , zeroed out the shift times, and have had zero TQ management in the tune. Dose this sound like you and your driving habits? If not get a 80e.....

No the corvette pumps let you run a remote reservoir because the blower bracket comes down so low the truck pump/reservoir would not fit. You would jut plumb your lines into the vette pump and reservoir. Any gm type II pump will work as long as it is a remote reservoir style. Rockcrawler guys use the GM type II/corvette pumps with hydro boost and hydro assist steering without problems I seen them as high as 2500psi, vett pumps are 1600psi.
