Unhappy procharger iat help

ive got a 05 gmc sierra stock 5.3 with a p1sc with intercooler and 54lb injectors put down 402rwhp 401tq. recently added long tubes deleted cats and added x pipe into two magnaflows. went to get it retuned at local tuner last weekend put down 402rwhp and 399tq. i asked my tuner what was up with no gain from exhaust. the anwser was IAT they where 150 deg. the last time it was dynoed the temps where 72deg. last weekend it was 102deg. it was pulling 4deg of timing. tuner said my intercooler is not working its the procharger one.

plan to try and relocate ic behind grill, relocate intake to stock location, and maybe meth.

will this lower the temps enough?
was looking on doing more like a cam but need to figure this out first.

its hot outside, the air is less dense. you can do the front mount and may see some gains but im not sure if its gonna b what you are expecting. I say put it on it and get some runs with similar conditions and let us know the results

I had that problem with a 2 core IC ,got a 3 core by procharger and is better now.how much boost are you running? Those numbers are good for a stock 5.3.

9lb. Of boost. But I'm also on 35 inch tire so some loss there . OK good to hear about the 3 core.
More work planned just not sure what's next

Having the IC behind the grill won't help your IAT's a bit while strapped on the dyno.
Methanol can/will drop your IAT's substantially...as well as increase octane...but only under boost. At the track and while on the dyno, a garden/bug sprayer w/ water can cool off your IC, charge piping and ProCharger head unit A LOT by misting them between runs or pulls.
I had the supplied 2-core for years...mounted where it was designed to be mounted.
When I went to a much larger e-bay IC, I had one end tank reversed and was able to mount it in the same location, using the same piping and couplers I had.
I have seen some guys add an electric fan to horizontal mounted IC's as well.

While driving, mine averages about 12* above ambient...'Quicksilverado' averages about the same w/ his turbo set-up and the same IC location. Both of ours are the larger 3-core e-bay C's...with a lil' more tilt than the ProCharger 2-core. With your 2-core, do you have the supplied rubber air-dam attached to the bottom rear of the IC?

Yes I have the rubber air-dam attached. Is it true it pulls timing for iat above 120deg. ?

I don't remember the details of the stock tune, but that sounds reasonable...all of which can be adjusted by using tuning software.
