I've spent hours and hours studying the safety aspects of propane, I lose no sleep over it whatsoever. There's plenty of info on the internet about it, truck bed installation is by far the most common in pick-up's.
The factory pcm is there, just doing a whole lot less than it ever used to now that the carb takes care of the fueling. I deleted a few lbs of wiring and all of the emissions equipment and I'd bet it still puts out less pollutants. It still handles spark/trans/speedo etc functions. Fuel adjustments are made with 1 allen wrench, an idle circuit screw and main circuit screw. Cruise is well above stoich so it gets great economy, I have had it idling baby smooth at under 300 rpm at times but 400 rpm cold and 700 rpm warm is where it's at now.
The turbo propane 2 stroke mountain sled was a kit I installed that got me started on this whole idea, I wanted to use it all the time but it was somewhat limited to mountain use and I live in wisconsin... Here is a vid and some photos of that,

I questioned the size of the carb too, figured I would just push it until I found the limits and redesign if I needed to. I thought the turbo a/r was too small and now I realize that I had been running this whole time with a loose manifold, of the 6 studs and nuts that hold it to the head 2 nuts were missing and the rest loosened up to almost finger tight! It wasn't restrictive and pushing the wastegate open, it was leaking like crazy! I had been running boost in the teens but it was not consistent at all. I tightened it up and we're making clean boost again, now I am really curious to see what kind of numbers I can put up!
