Schwan's Ice Cream trucks around here run the 8.1's with Bi-Phase Liquid Propane Injection. The propane tank has an access panel with a bulk head fitting. The intake pump resembles a walbro 255 that is inserted in a paper like filter. The fuel line exits the tank and Y's at the back of the engine into the fuel rails. Everything else appears stock. I can take some pics if your interested. I could try and read the ecm with HP Tuners.

Yeah man I would appreciate it, I plan on using it on my 1993 dually with my 8.1 mild cam and possibly a turbo. and clean with better octane and cheaper.

I was doing research on direct injection at the time as well, maybe that was where I got the bias about injectors gumming with poor fuel quality. These are right in the manifold so there should be no issues. For a new install, aside from having to buy the special tank with pump this looks like it could be a cool route to go. Let us know what you find out!

Only problem with injection, would be getting larger injectors for more hp.

whats funny is the 160 pound injectors i bought for my other project says they are for lpg
