Alright,
I swore I would keep this thing a 4l60 but now I am on the fence. I can get a rebuilt 60 with alto frictions, beast sungear shell and some other fun stuff w/ a restalled stock converter (2400rpm) for $1500 from a local rebuilder. He also said he would warranty everything but hard parts for 1 year (sounds like a good deal).
What would I need to swap to an 80 and what is the ACTUAL cost when all is said and done? Are there other issues that I would need to address with an 80 swap?
Thanks for the input!
By the way, how is your new build coming along?

very good just need some tuning...im not gonna tell you what you will need for a 4x4 80e swap because im not shure but there are quite a few guys on here that have done it and hope they will chime in for you..i broke 5 built 65e's hard parts back to back and only had 450 hp...please dont go down that very expensive road i went down. i was very stupid rebuilding evry time
BTW: here is a good start...look in your area for the same:https://www.performancetrucks.net/fo...28&postcount=1

do the 4l80e and be done with it. the cost of the swap is nothing compared to buying 4l60e again and again. i broke my built upgraded 4l65e behind my 160000 mile 4.8l with a cam. they just dont hold when u start pushin them in a heavy truck
