PT88 vs. TC78
I'm trying to decide on a turbo for my daily driven truck. Just looking for some feedback and opinions. It's a stock LQ4 with a TR Blower cam only.
Would a PT88-47 be too much? I would need a new turbo kit if I went this route..
However, I could keep my same turbo kit and just bolt on a TC76 or TC78.. This would be the most cost effective but I'm not sure if it will deliver the results I'm looking for.
Right now I have a 62-1 so anything bigger would be a step in the right direction I guess..

A 47/88 is some pretty serious business, your Lq4 will last much longer with the 76 or 78. My PT88/T4 is fine on the street but I like the TC76 much better for daily driving. I've been 10.30's with the TC76 in not so great conditions.

I would like to hit 10s on the Lq4 before it pops.

Yeah I personally think traction will be an issue either way I go..
But to meet my goals I think a PT88 would be best..

The PT88 is actually pretty easy to control with your foot since boost takes a while to come on whereas the smaller turbo would spool quicker. I will have my pt88 on my 5.3 here in a few days so Ill let you know how that goes...

if your going over 750rwhp.... get a pt88, if not then dont get it but a 750 REAR wheel hp truck is a serious setup.
additionally,, once you start getting up that high in hp the T4 flange becomes an issue. A front mount 400cu motor with a pt88 is a horrible combination.
