Pull through or blow through MAF set up?
I just talked to Geoff at EPS about how I should route the MAF on my turbo set up. He wasnt too sure which would be the best way until we get it strapped to the dyno and get to tuning it. How do you guys have yours ran? And if you say go speed density, I asked him about that and he said these trucks are a pita to tune that way, so Im kinda stuck on how to run my charge piping for the moment until I find which way is better...

I would have my MAF pre-turbo if I could. The 5" opening on the cold side for the filter would make for a weird arrangement of intake pipes, not to mention routing the BOV air back into the compressor inlet after the MAF. Placing the MAF in undisturbed air allows for easier tuning and more accurate MAF measurements. Would just take a bunch of funky stuff to make it happen. I also plan on going SD when more progress is made on speed density operating systems for E38 ECMs.

Jake, where is your maf mounted at in youpiping and how far from the TB away is it? Got any pics you can text me? I'm trying to set everything up this weekend. It's the last thing I have to finish before bolting up the turbo and dropping it off with Geoff.

i would do suck through also. mine was post turbo and it was always kinda funky. so i went 2bar. i'm not sure why one would say its hard to tune that way. i just copied my stock ve table in the the new one up to 1bar. then i took the 105 line and pasted it all the way to 210 and tuned from there. its got to better than blindly adding fuel after the maf is maxed out.
