Are you trying to get the nut off or the pulley?
For the nut, use a strap wrench to hold the pulley in place and just take a socket wrench to the nut.
For the pulley, get a 3 jaw gear puller.

You will need a strap wrench or belt wrench, a breaker bar and a buddy to help. The bolt is torqued to 45 ft pounds.
If you do not have a belt wrench, you can make one out of an old belt and some vice grips.

What's the problem with using an impact to REMOVE the nut? Just grab the pulley with a gloved hand and blip it off. That's the only way I've ever done it. Yes, use a gear puller to remove the pulley. Also, don't tell Brian that I normally use an impact to tighten the gear puller It's a little known fact that most impact wrenches have a slow speed low torque ability.

I will note that when you guys call me with broken pins on the isolator and shaft Happens all the time, and its ONLY 750-850 to repair since it destroys the rotor.
If you have done it in the past then you have been lucky, those pins are designed to break if the blower ingests something....and the force you put through the blower shaft with an impact gun will destroy your blower...sooner or later.
Bottom line, dont cut corners and do it the right way with the right tools.
