pulley upgrade on a stock Joe Gibbs?
I want to change the pulley on my Joe Gibbs 5.3 from the stock 3.6... Ive read that the stock 5.3 will handle more boost than this supercharger will produce..(I think it's a mp112) Is this true? What pulley size should I go with and how much boost will it give me? I've read that it's at 4.5-5 psi stock. I will be installing a sweet boost gauge before the swap.
Thanks!
Thanks!

Stock 5.3l will hold a ton of power. I don't think its possible to blow up a 5.3 with an mp112 as long as your tune is spot on and intake temps are kept under control. HotRod magazine did a junkyard 5.3l build (it turned out to be a 4.8l) and it was getting 26.5lbs of boost and making over 1200hp on the dyno after SEVERAL hard pulls. LS engines are tough!!! Linky

I don't plan on running E85 or meth. I always run 93. It has the stock shorty headers and stock Gibbs exhaust. Hopefully you can tell from this picture. If not I'll get a better one this afternoon.

Sorry for the newbie question but what's the difference, performance wise, between a pressed on and keyed pulley?

Well ****, if the "Baby" supercharger wont produce enough boost to hurt your motor, than by all means put a 2.6 pulley from Pulley Boys on there and let us know how it runs.....or should I say for how long.....
FYI, the truck does not have the bigger pump and you need to replace the nose drive with a keyed nose to change the pulley.
