Default R.I.P. Radix belt tensioner

Well I killed my radix belt tensioner the other night. I let a buddy drive my truck and he got in and out of boost real fast and the belt got slung off and the tensioner is no where to be found. Thats what I get for letting a buddy drive my truck I was really worried but apparently after I did some research on here im not the only one that has killed a tensioner. Read this thread: https://www.performancetrucks.net/fo...belt+tensioner
Found out that the dayco tensioner is the right one but it comes with the wrong pulley. I need to get in contact with magnacharger and get one sent my way. Anybody got a website where I can order one directly from magancharger? Thanks for the help,
Sam

as far as warranty replacement just contact them directly. Hit up The Breeze on PM or search his posts on the topic, he has a part number of one that won't break, just gotta pay for it. When your on the phoen with MAggie, put in the 10,000 request to upgrade that tensioner. LOL

From my notes for the next time I have to buy a tensioner:

Radix Belt Tensioner

From 87-96 Ford F-Truck/E-Van 4.9L or 87-92 Bronco 4.9L
Dayco # 89222, Pulley # 89009
Napa, Gates, ACDelco # 38131
Four Seasons # 45869
Goodyear 49233

* Tensioner comes with the wrong pulley. Buy correct pulley (Dayco 89009) and replace.

Yep, been there, done that... twice. I carry a spare with me at all times now. That was a link to my thread. The Christmas day break, remember it well.

Cool, appreciate the help fellas. Drx are those part numbers for the ones that wont break or just the regular one that comes with it? I have to get another belt too, it cut up mine pretty bad. I had to limp my truck home like you did kysilverado, go a little bit and let it cool off, it was all kinds of fun. Mabye I will buy the upgraided one that wont break and a regular one as back up, along with TWO belts!

I can't really say which tensioner is better. Some of them are the same, just rebranded. But there are 2 or 3 actual different ones. I'm pretty sure that I got a Dayco because that's what the store had. Mine never broke. I just changed it when I was trying to solve my belt issues. IIRC there might be some differences in the springs, etc. Maybe someone else will chime in on that.
