Default Radix fuel pump bad?

First, sorry guys, not sure what forum to put this in. Mods, please feel free to move it if this is incorrect forums.

Yesterday, my Radix in-line fuel pump starting making a REALLY LOUD whining noise while i had my truck running sitting in my driveway. Today, it started doing it again while i was driving and i noticed my fuel pressure starting to drop alot. Is the fuel pump going bad? If so, will Magnacharger warranty it? If not, where can i get a new one and how much are they? thanks.

Mine went bad I replaced it with a Edelbrock #1794 fuel pump mounted on the chassis rail next to the fuel tank.I used the Radix relay and lengthened the wiring.

Depending on how long you have had it you will be under warranty.

Holley makes a similar in-line pump. I think it's a Walbro...anyhow I had one on my Chevelle when I had the Commander MPI 950 on it. It fed my 454 very nicely. I think the cost is around $150. Later

Thanks Brian. I called Magnuson and spoke to David. He said i have to buy a new pump and send my old one back. If they find it defective they'll credit me back my money. Its gonna be $125 which i don't have right now. Guess i'm kinda screwed without my truck for awhile until i can come up with the cash. bummer.

also, what if they say its not defective? i mean, it dosn't make this loud horrible noise 100% of the time, and it just started yesterday. Maybe i'll wait until it just stops working completely.

they do tend to make some noise.....If the fuel pressure is dropping, then I am sure its an issue. let me see what I can do for you.

Mine started making a very loud noise as you described when it got really hot, and then it wouldn't add any additional PSI to the stock pressure. If I let it sit and cool down it would work fine again for awhile. I replaced it with the Holley/Walbro unit as mentioned above and it's been fine. Mine lasted about 2 years....how old is yours?
