Question Radix Is this normal

I'm concerned about how much noise my Radix makes. It may be normal
but in all the years I've been reading about this stuff, I don't recall anyone commenting on the noise.
On normal no-load low rpm driving you can't hear it at all, quiet quiet
As soon as there is a little load and the bypass starts to close it's loud,
sounds exactly like a power steering pump with no fluid in it.
it's overbearing, louder than the exhaust, tires and other mechanical noise.
I 've driven a whippled truck before and you had to listen for the noise,
the Radix is right in your face.
I'm refering to the in cab noise.

Like I said it may be normal but caught me by surprise, inquiring minds need to know.

You cant here mine until you put it to the floor. No load, and part throttle you gotta strain to hear it. May be different outside of the truck, but thats how it is inside.

EDIT: I see your talking specificaly about the Radix...sorry.

should be similar sound anyway, mine starts making lots of noise around 1500 rpm
if there is a load on it, as in going up an incline or moderate acceleration.

you can't hear the blower over the exhaust or exhaust over the blower,
mine i can't hear much over the blower.
I'm not saying it's a bad thing I just want to be sure it's normal.
i expected some noise at wot but not at light load.

Allgonoshow,

The sound you hear is probably normal. I've had mine for 2 years now, so it must be working properly, and it does drown out the engine, exhaust, tires, etc.. They used to include a can of foam spray you could squirt into the passenger side fender to quiet the noise somewhat. I never did install it, and I'm not sure if they even include it anymore.

they still include it but i didn't use it as I have an open k/n box and filter and fiqured the foam was to be used if you drawing air thru the fender opening.
is this correct.

i put the can in, but it was pointless because i have an open filter. w/ the foam and factory box its probably pretty quiet. i love the noise however. i have an open filter and fiberglass outer fenders so my inner fender openings open straight to my wheel well. so loud :-D i love it!
