Brian,
Are those the "standard" 42lb injectors? If not, what are they?

Smallest diameter tire you can get away with while still maintaining traction gives a higher effective gear ratio ... here is a calculator to see the difference ... TCI Racing Calculators ... You can "tune" your tire height too. Remember though that with a smaller diameter tire you may have an additional shift that could cost you time in the end.

Sorry for the hijack ... now returning you to your regularly scheduled program

with the 4l60e and 4.10 gears and 30.3 inch tall tires with 6500 redline that 3rd is hurting you a alot (tbss)

now gong with a275 40 17 drops it to almost a 4.95 gear ratio. Lots of guys even truck guys are going thru traps at like 4500 rpms redline is what 6000??? yah lots left on the table.

Anyone that drag races when you go thru the traps see what rpm your at and im sure 90 percent of the guys here are way under the rpms they should be at.

btw 275 40 17 at 6500 with 4.10 gears top of 3rd is 122 mph at 6500 rpms so im sure that small tire woulnt hurt a lot of people because i see most of th guys from 102-118 here. ALso 295 45 17 is the other tire id recommend. ET streets all the way.

I hear ya NORCAL_TBSS! Before I did anything to the GTO I used to run a 26" street tire and a 27" slick at the track just so I could cross the line in 3rd @ 109 and ~6200 RPM The 26" tire would hit the limiter before I was close to the line so I had to either ride it out or try to grab 4th.
Then when I added a lil power I had to switch up wheels again because I had to grab 4th anyway so I went with a 24" DR and it let me cross the line in 4th @ about 5800 ... There is always one more thing to think about when you are racing eh?

That must be one heck of a ride. I can't even imagine 120. I am very anxious to see what mine does at the track so I can get a feel for what wheel / tire setup to go with. Wheels and tires can get expensive if you have to have too many. That is one minor glitch with my truck ... need 4 each instead of just being able to change out 2
