Well I couldn't find my old thread so I figured I'd post here. Just got my boost gauge installed, and it turns out I'm only making 6psi, sometimes running up to 7ish. This is with the stock pulley, stock balancer...I can't think of a reason why it might be making less than the 9psi advertised with the kit. Ideas?

I dont feel like looking up the specs or running the numbers but the gt7 IIRC should be a 0 overlap cam, or damn close to it. If it is, then it wont bleed any boost off. Your exhaust isnt that free flowing either. Its either belt slip or a leak somewhere. Either between the manifold or between the manifold and heads. Before I got too crazy Id get it on a dyno.
13 flat aint bad for the very conservative combo youre running. What was your trap speed?

It's not that his cam is "bleeding" boost, his motor and exhaust is flowing more air which equals less restriction then a stock stock motor and exhaust. Boost is just a measure of restriction, remember?? On top of that, he's about 26-2800' above sea level, so he's gonna loose some for altitude too. I would say 2psi under advertised is about right for your mods and altitude with that pulley setup.
