Default Screwed up torque curve?

Shouldn't my torque be a lot higher by 2700 RPM? Even without the blower.

It should be higher and flatter. Mine is flat from 2500 to 5500 right below 400 rwtq if i can remember right.

Seems to me every graph I have seen is high and flat right out of the whole.

Any ideas?

what gear was it pulled in, was the verter locked....why did he start the pull at 2700? I start at 2000, looks like operator error to me.

I believe he did that pull in 3rd. Tried one in first or 2nd that was worse. He didn't plug anything into the data link connector. Printout starts at 2700. Seemed kind of in a hurry to me.

What conditions should be specified for a proper dyno pull and what data has to entered into the machine?

Thanks

Just looked at the numbers: 88.2 mph/6080 RPM
Graphed results had to be in 2nd gear.

Think we need a How to Dyno guide.

Some info on how to analyse a dyno sheet would also be helpful.
For example: things like smooth curves vs bumpy curves and the possible causes, what's normal and what's not

I had a local guy dyno my truck in 2nd gear, insisted it would give more accurate results. It only showed 360 ft.lbs at 3000 rpms. Torque graph looked like a HP graph, not high and flat like every other dyno I've ever done on a blown car. Told the guy that it was not possible for it to be that low, the truck made more than that stock. Went directly over to another local dyno and ran the truck in third with the converter locked; over 700 rwtq at 3000 rpms.

I would try a different dyno or at least one that will dyno in 3rd (1:1) gear with the converter locked.

By the way, how do you Chevy guys start your dynos at 2000 rpms without the trans downshifting? You have a special program made up for the dyno to prevent the downshift? I can do it in my tune on the Lightning, but normally you'd have to be over 3000 rpms to start the dyno or it will downshift.

Jody
