I will stick to what works. Traditional gravity feed at top of oil pan.

I think that is a whole lot of white smoke waiting to happen when the oil backs up in that drain. Hell there are plenty of people on here that have had oil back up problems with the drain above the oil line and had to go with restrictors.

That's just from shitty workmanship when it comes to turbo assembly and design.

I think this would work if the drain plug were near the pickup for the oil pump, which might be the case for the Cobalt. Typically drain plugs are the lowest point in the pan, like for our trucks, therefore it probably wouldn't work.

for us guys with factory oil coolers vortech made a nice billet aluminum spacer that goes between the cooler lines and the block . just have to use one extra gasket and a couple longer bolts. its pretty cheap from vortech .

Sounds like the feed. Thats a high pressure area.

yes its the feed, the drain is next to it in the oil pan. i dont have my truck right now so no pics.
but if you look up the install instructions on vortech's site you will see it in the install sheet.
