Default SS Silverado, thinking of going Turbo this Spring..

I have a 03 SS w the stock 166k LQ4 still going strong and looking for a little more power and MPG and the same time...
MUST not have to remove or relocate any A/C or Acc.

Wanting to go Single Turbo instead of putting a TVS on it and not have to deal w putting $$$$ in the Exhaust system and buying a blower, thinking it would be cheaper just to build or buy a turbo kit and kill 2 birds w 1 stone.

I see that On3 Performance has a Truck kit now but its to new for me to jump in and buy a kit that hasnt been tested over a long period of time and for only $1900 area for a turbo kit its almost to good to be true and usually ya get what you pay for 9/10 times.....

I also see that Trick Performance has a kit for $2400 area, only thing here is, you have the option not to buy their turbo and it only takes off $300, In the pics on there Web Site it shows them using Precision Turbo Parts, If they Really are using Precision brand Turbo and Wastegate this kit looks pretty darn good.

In both of these kits my worried are the Hot Side as is in every Turbo System.

Trucks Mods:
TSP 7.4 Pushrods
Comp Cam Truinon Upgrade to stock rockers
Ls2 Timing Chain
SLP Oil Pump

I have a Yank Converter and a Built 4l65E, Cam, Valve Springs and Fresh 317 Heads/Gaskets and ARP Head Bolts that are going in the Truck before the Turbo Kit goes in.

Only looking to Boost 6-12lbs and gain a few extra HP for the street and Pulling a Car Hauler w

Thanks

Going turbo to save money on exhaust is the absolute wrong way to think. Turbo set ups are money and time pits.

People have used stock manis but the "creativity" factor goes way up compared to a standard log setup.

If you plan to tow, you want a intercooler setup and a very good cooling system.

I'd set a budget of 8-10k, including the cost of a built 4L80.

My options are either a Single Turbo Kit or a TVS Blower and with the blower id still have Headers, ORY Pipe and the back half of the exhaust to do also....

W a Turbo kit I get my Forced Air Power and the Exhaust all in one system for alot less money in the long run is all i was getting at.

Like already stated, its not going to be cheaper. Atomic had a good idea and that will probably be your best bet.

80e is not always needed. It comes down to the final power you are going for.
Wonder why the 80e isn't mentioned in blower threads.

If your pulling that's a different kit then a hot rodding kit.

8-10k is grossly over priced for a base kit.

I would keep it simple go maggie only and save your money for a built trans and motor down the road.

I already have the Built 4l65E and Converter sitting on the Bench that was for another project that the chassis got sold, so that Trans is Def. going in the Truck no matter what..

Im wondering w a small cam around, 22x/22x, 590,590 Lift (Est. Specs) and 6-10lbs of boost w the Trick Stage 1 Kit what kinda of power Im going to around at the Wheels, and If my 8.1l injectors I have are going to be enough, I may look into sending them out and haven them re-vlaved to 60lbs or so to be on the safe side
