Need to put some insulation there. That's pretty warm.
Use header wrap if you have some left.
Surprised your ac still works right. If the tank is that hot wonder what your low side psi is.

Point the laser at fire wall and other things in the area. See if they are as hot.

Also all plastic or rubber in the area is probably start melting.

The overflow tank might have to go. The front reservoir is engine coolant, and middle is intercooler coolant. The front reservoir occasionally gets hot, and I dont want that heat transferred to my intercooler coolant. I dont have meth in the tank yet. Not sure if I really want to with that much heat around it anyways .

Keep in mind how those infared thermometers work...you could be seeing some reflected radiation off the downpipe. The more reflective the surface the less accurate those thermometers are. Im not saying its not hot, but take that number with a grain of salt. If you have a contact thermometer that would be even better.

Good point. I am sort of new to using it. I might do a little more testing with it tomorrow. Im still going to look into sending the DP to Swain Technologies to have coated.

Tks Richard, it was reflecting off of the drier. I covered the DP with cardboard after a drive and the drier was 150 degrees. I worry too much.

It still wouldn't hurt to shield the dryer if you don't end up sending the DP to get coated. But if you do get it coated, you might post up some before/after temp numbers.

Seen a few of these threads recently. What size dp are you guys running. I haven't had any problems with mine in over a year. Dp is just wraped with some header wrap

Wow i never had wrap on my downpipe and never had insulation on my a/c stuff. Always worked great... Melted the hose coming off one time so I added a turbo blanket. But other than that had the kit installed for over a year with no issues.
