Default Stock cam stock valve springs, 12 psi?

I am in the process of fabbing the hot side up on my turbo kit for my silverado. 67mm single turbo on a 265k mile stock 4.8 with a 4l80. I am prob going to get a cam and upgrade the springs later but wondered if it would be ok for meow?
What are your thoughts??
Going to float a valve? Risky, dumb, crazy??!!

High mileage stock springs + 12psi would not be my pick. Replace the springs or be warned you may float and or drop a valve.

That's no good I would at least go for some used ls6 springs or something.

Mine is at 226000 and I'm doing the same thing gonna boost it on twelve pounds and let the stock motor have it. Even tho it's been a good one its seen better days I've hit a 150 on it since it turned over 175k it's been a champ

you'll have to do the spring swap before hitting 12#. the seat pressure is probably a lot lower than stock w/ that many miles on them. valve float will definantly be a problem. i like the patriot dual extremes. very good price for what you get. they have the highest seat pressure i've seen. lots of pressure trying to open those valves. ls6 springs would be good cheap upgrade over stock if on a budget.

Well either change your springs or keep us filled in when you kill the motor.
