STS GT-67 on a 4.8
ok guys....been on the forums for a while now along with some other forums but i never really chime in all that much. im the kind of person that likes doing things and learning on my own. but im stepping into something really fast without knowing what im doing, so im coming to you guys. i just bought a used sts turbo kit that is meant for a 6.0 ex cab and my truck is a 4.8 sbsc. I have some basic knowledge but im asking for help. What else should i get. This is the one im getting.

now, short of fuel pump, injectors, and a good tune, this should be all set ready to go. i just want some suggestions as far as everything goes, general info about what i may or may not run into for problems as far as installing this. if anyone has anything help me out. i was looking into getting 60# injectors, walbro fuel pump, and a nelson tune before i start installing this, your thoughts?
readyyyyyyyyyyyyyyyyyyyyyyy go!

That 67mm turbo might be a bit big for you depending on how much boost you're wanting to run and how far you want to push it. Regardless though, you should really ditch the .96 A/R exhaust housing and get a .68 ex housing.

I agree, your going to need a .68 exhaust housing on the turbo and definitely wrap the pipes to the turbo or it's going to have a bit of lag. I ran the MP T70 I had now for a little bit on my STS, before I wrapped the pipe and it was a bit laggyer then I would have liked. How hard are you going to push it? 60lbs injectors are probable more then your gona need unless you really start to push it. I can tell you that with 42's on my front mount now, I am at about 12-13psi and 6200 shifts and am just hitting 100% DC on the injectors. I'm making in the 520-30 rwhp range there, but I have a small cam and a little meth too.

hey 8ALTNG maybe we can meet up and look some **** over when i get my kit then. i live in tewksbury, ma. right next to lowell where i work.
thanks for the info so far guys. let me remind u though, im very illiterate when it comes to forced air and big performance changes like this, explain some things in detail for me if u think of it so i kind of kno what im getting into here. i want to learn this stuff before i just slap a turbo on without doin injectors fuel pump tune cam etc etc. keep it comin!

I would say just wrap the exhaust first. then buy a smaller housing if the lag is unbearable. I noticed only a slight increase in lag when I went from the 6.0 to the 5.3.
