STS oil pan return mod
Has anyone tapped the oil pan yet for the return line in their STS kit? I've done it before for a Turbo Technologies kit on my TA, but it leaked like crazy due to the fact that you cant put too much torque on the fitting or you'll strip it out. Has anyone tried welding an aluminum fitting to the pan yet?
If anyone has threaded a fitting to the pan, would you mind sharing some pics?

My vortech required tapping the pan, but it leaks badly. Im now going with an STS kit and I planned on using the oil pan tap that is already there from the vortech. I'll see if I can get it cleaned up some.

Im probably going to hook it up to where my Vortech was tapped. Probably drain the pan and then clean it up and Go to town with the JB weld it I dont just weld the **** up. I'll have to see what it looks like when I get under there. Mine is leaking bad though!!

You may want to try this stuff instead of JB weld.
I bought some a while back and used it on a scrap aluminum Trek bike frame I had from work.
You have to get the area around the weld pretty hot to get it to adhere to both sufaces but it seems to work well. I used a propane torch, a map gas torch with the oxygen tank would be better.

Your oil will never even come close to getting hot enough to affect this material.
Some of the hard-core racers here may say don't use it but I think it would be better than JB weld.
