Brian, I'm not familiar with the different engine names, I've got the 6.0, not a 5.3. What's the difference between that and the LQ4?

LQ4 is a low compression 6.0. You have the LQ9.

Its a long block with coils and a water pump. 2gs plus shipping. This is still a STOCK motor, by no means is it bullet proof.

ok thanks ill keep it in mind if the time comes, out of curiosity, what would my block go for persay it had a blown #7.

That's a far cheaper option that building a forged short block. I don't think it's getting carried away at all. Hopefully the rings just lost thier seal, but if they didn't..

I'm surprised more people aren't sugesting a blown head gasket- Am I the only person that noticed he mentioned "milky oil" coming out of the PCV?? That would explain the miss and everything else, plus a little ping on boost will almost always at least partially blow the head gasket if it's severe enough to hurt a piston.

Funny you say that, I pulled the 5.3 apart yesterday....no damaged piston and "slight" milk in the oil Looks like I just got greedy with the boost on the ole 5.3.

Ya I forgot to mention something else too....I have a small coolant leak also that drips in the front of my block onto the floor also that I couldn't pinpoint the direct source of.
