Now I'm lost, I'm getting my compression test done Monday. Correct me if I'm wrong but I thought if I had a blown head gasket or f$%d piston, wouldn't it be smoking from the tailpipe? By know means do I know what I'm talking about, only what you nice folks have taught me.

Check the compression....I am sure that I had both a blown head gasket and cracked ringlands.

That would explain the miss and everything else, plus a little ping on boost will almost always at least partially blow the head gasket if it's severe enough to hurt a piston.
