STS pvc valve assembly

The valve serves a purpose but it is not needed if you just want to vent out to a catch can or filter. Some people seem to be able to get away with this and some do not...like me.
The valve basically is activated by the same switch that tells your return pump whan to go into high speed mode, over 1psi is the factory STS setting.
When it is open while under vacumn or normal non-boosted driving it lets your venting system work as stock, when under boost it keeps you from pressurizing your crankcase and blowing seals and other bad **** from happening.
A one way valve will serve the same purpose if done in a set-up that pulls boost from your crankcase or just vents fumes. There are many posts on this that will help, just do a search and read up. I'm in Japan right now and only had time for this simple explanation.

did it
did this last night and it worked great. was having trouble with oil dipstick spraying oil. took out sts valve all together. ran both valve cover lines straight into a catch can with a breather on it. kept the pressure switch, for the oil pump, using the throttle body nipple as a boost source. capped the other end. worked great.
BTW, ran a 12.93 in the cerw cab last night.

That is a possibility but mine still seems to be working fine at 12 PSI. If it is not working properly you will definitely be putting more pressure into the crankcase at higher boost levels.
