STS Turbo
I've been looking around at turbos and superchargers and I was wondering if anyone has tried the STS turbo. Everything about it looked pretty good to me and I was just curious if anyone has tried it. If anyone has how much did it cost you to get it put on?

I have the STS Turbo as well and I really like mine. Currently I am running 5 psi and it took about 2 seconds off of my time in the 1/4 mile. I installed it myself and with a little help from Jerry among others it was no problem. I just installed a STS Boost controller and Methanol injection so I hope to be upping the boost soon to see what that does for my truck. There is lots of info on this site so all you have to do is try the search feature to get lots of results. I bought my kit used on EBAY and got a pretty good deal so if you shop around you may be able to get one for a good price. A little risky but I am very happy with mine.
The base kit goes for $3990. So it is there and up depending on the options you get and the pricing you can find. It is worthwhile doing your homework and finding out all you can about FI before you leap in.
Good luck. Try it you will like it!

STS makes a good kit. Whether you should buy one or not is a loaded question and depends totally on what you want. Here's a link to start you thinking: SilveradoSS.com Sticky on FI options
I love mine -- STS answered every single one of my needs and has been with me every step of the way on hitting my goals.

Good advice above. I loved my STS Dodge kit and also was able to install in 5-6 hours.
If you are not the DIY type, I would make local dealer support the tiebreaker. A good dealer-installer is worth a ton more than price. You can get in reeely deep, both time and money, when upgrading or tuning.
IMHO, the turbo kits are easier to upgrade down the road. Boost is addicting, 5psi will get boring shortly. Just be careful with the tuning, it should be the #1 concern. Sure wish it was mine......

Like Erik said, it answered all my performance needs.
You will need a good tune with ANY FI kit you decide to buy. I don't buy into the tune that comes with the kits out there. They are usually too "safe" to give much power and as we all know a custom tune makes a hell of a difference.
A guy came up to my buddy's shop last week and on 8psi and a stock motor was only turning 280 or so RWHP with an STS kit but after taking out the mail order tune and doing a custom tune he walked out with 380 or so RWHP. Not a bad gain I've seen similar stuff happen with other kits out there. ATI, Magnacharger, Vortech, etc.

The kit is good, but if I had to do it all over again with what I know now I'd get larger injectors right from the start, a boost gauge ordered with the kit,a two stage boost controller and a 3.5" diameter tailpipe instead of the 3" i have now. Just my 2 pennies.
You WILL get bored with 5psi!
