Default STS turbo guestions

How does the STS hold up to rain, snow, and salt? Since i live in PA we do get our far share of snow and they salt the road alot. How does the turbo and tube hold up to this kind of weather?

Your turbo will rust no matter what or where it's located. Unless you were to coat it with the special turbo paint. Not sure where to get it but its been mentioned here and I've seen it somewhere on the net. I beleive its kinda pricy. The STS pipes hold up fairly well to the road salt and crap, but you probably see some rusting here and there if the coating was improperly applied. I've had mone about a year and three quarters now and wish I'd done something to protect the cast iron turbo housing some. It won't affect performance at all but it looks ugly as hell.
Wish STS had an all stainless option for the charge pipes but no dice.

Not trying to change your mind but in wisconsin we get a fair amount of snow and lots of salt. I almost got a sts kit but changed my mind for this reason. Radix and whipple are under the hood and that was the key for me. Or go custom with the turbo and put it under the hood. Just my .02.

The salt has been on my kit and everything but the turbo still lokks pretty good. The STS kit really isn't about the bling to begin with so it's really a choice that comes down to the user. I know this doesn't help much but its the truth.
