Ya I know it is kinda a pointless question but I am bored so I thought that I would see. What does everyone prefer? Gates belts or Goodyear Gatorbacks? Been running a Gates and I upped the boost the other day and was getting some belt slip. Thought for the hell of it I would try a Gatorback. So far so good. The slip seemed to only be when it would shift 1-2/2-3. Not sure thought, I might have been getting a little under wide open also. Ill have to take it out for a WO run with the new belt and see if my boost is any higher.

I have the Gatorback. I am only running the stock boost level right now, a 3.4" pulley on my 5.3. I never have slip when running at WOT. I do get a belt slip if I floor it in first and get up above 4Krpm and them just yank my foot off the gas ( you know, like you were shooting across a 4 lane highway from side streets ) Then I get a quick screeeech. but that's it. I had a gates on my Powerdyne and that sucker slipped at anything above 5K rpm.

Gatorback>Gates. I would get light dusting from the gatorback and havier dusting from the Gates. never gained or lost boost though.

My gates would slip under part throttle shifts, it would screech. It got annoying, the gatorback does not. So Far anyway

No it is plenty snug
A little more pulley wrap wouldnt hurt. Working on that idea for future boost increases. I think Ill be ok up too 10lbs but any higher and I will chance a couple idler pullleys
