Default Which supercharger

I want to know everyones opinion on which tvs2300 to get, front driven, or jackshaft. I want to get the jackshaft so I can overdrive with the rear pulleys, but I'm worried about if the jackshaft will last as long. It is going on my dd, and I plan on driving it forever. I'm also wondering if I will ever crank it up enough to need the rear overdrive, I know it will be a while before I get an 8rib setup, but I haven't seen anyone really crank up a front drive yet to see the psi results.

I don't really know what my goals are yet, because I've never even driven anything that runs like my truck now, let alone after I get a sc on it. I think 8-10 psi for daily driving sounds like what most are running, but I don't know from there. My engine is made to take it, so I guess just crank it up from there until it scares the **** out of me or I kill myself.

the 2300 will be more than enough blower. Front drive will be more than enough for a DD Heck the 1900 would be plenty for a DD.

A front drive 1900 will take you to the limits of your fuel system and transmission. I've had both and for a 11 second DD the 1900 is the way to go IMHO. The 1900 also seemed better suited to the street than my 2300 but I never ran them a comparable boost levels either.

You can't go wrong either way. Good luck

When it first came out I had my mind set on the jackshaft, but I have read on here of being able to get around 18# out of the front drive 2300. I figured if I want to pulley down to 14-15# or so, just for a track day or something every once in a while I would be ok with the front.

I have been shopping for the best price for a bosch 044 fuel pump, and if I need to I could thow another one inline, even though I dont think I would. On the trans, you don't think my level3 4l80 w/ a circled stageIII is good enough, I figured a stock one would hold up to what I could throw at it, at or less than 10#. The only thing I think I will have a problem with is the g80, but I hope to get that taken care of soon also.

I missed the L80 piece. I'm not sure how someone got 17psi from a front drive but I'd like to know. Give the jackshaft 2300 a whirl and go with the cogged rear belt too On my 6.0 with a 3" front pulley it will make over 20psi.

What should the front drive unit put out then. I know with my heads, cam, headers, it will make better power with less boost, but I want to be able to crank it up past 14-15#.Should I just go with the jackshaft unit, so later I'm not kicking myself for making the wrong decision now.

I'd just go with the Jackshaft unit if your going to want more that 12psi. A couple of guys had issues with not being able to spin the front drive 2300 enough to reach their boost goals. i.e. you'd be kicking yourself.

You have the jackshaft one, is there anything about it that looks like it might wear out, or not last as long as the front drive, or do all the bushings/bearings on the jackshaft itself look like they will be durable enough to last as long as the rest of the blower will. Thats the only thing about it that I am worried about.

Oh yea, and is it easy enough find the right combo of pulleys for the rear? I'm guessing you have to pull the whole unit to swap them out.

I'm running a front drive 2300 and daily drive it. On a 3.2" pulley I'm seeing 11psi on a 370 with L92 heads and LEP blower cam. Driveability is good. I'm not for sure what the max boost is on the front drive but I think I would be able to pulley down and make 18psi. If you are wanting more the rear drive would be a better choice.

Would overdriving the rear and using a bigger pulley on the front make belt slip less of a problem, or is it more of a drag from higher boost that causes the slipping.
