Supercharging my 5.3 what to expect
Hello everyone first post here. I have a 2011 Z71 5.3 that is going in to have a Magnuson supercharger installed. The truck has 5300 miles on it now. I have a 8 inch lift kit with 35 inch tires and a 4.56 rear end. The tranny is a 6L80. Under the current factory engine it does not have the power I am looking for. I hope putting this supercharger on eliminates that problem. What is everyone else's thoughts ? Thanks

This will probably fix your problem. Put a 2.8 pulley and long tube headers on it and you'll be able to smoke those big tires. I'd probably stick with the factory cam and stall with your setup. Low end torque is a must. I do worry about your transmission, though. Not sure how strong those are.

yeah with those gears and that trans its gona have gobs down low. personally id run 4.10's to 4.30's because of the mass torque your gona get from the s/c. gona smoke your tires off like no tomorrow.

I had 4.11's in it. The final drive of the tranny is .66. At 70 it still wanted to down shift alot.
