Default Swapping pulleys on my Radix ???

I think I want more boost. What can my stock 5.3 handle with pump gas? 91octane is about all that can be found around here. I currently have a 160 deg t-stat to install and two smaller pulleys, a 3.0 and 3.1. A new tune is a given but is there anything I should consider when swapping pulleys?

91 Octane..ouch that sucks IMO. Your running a 3.4 now so ya a tune is all i would worry about at the moment. I dont see that your running a cam or anything that would maybe suggest upgrading injectors.

44lb injectors may not feed it? What would be next in line, 50lb injectors or is that pretty marginal as far as improvement?

I ran a 3.1 with my old 5.3 and it was fine. It was about 9-9.5psi. I would start with a 3.25 or the 3.1 you have now and go from there.

I think you will be okay with the 44# injectors with the 3.1 pulley. Your IDC may get up into the 90's though. I would buy a methanol kit before larger injectors. The meth will keep your intake charge cooler and add octane so you can run a smaller pulley without detonation. IMO

I know I should have bought the Snow Methanol kit with it.

I see you have the pulleys ready. I would also go down to the 3.1" and see how it is.

You're such an optimist BC.

With excellent tuning these engines seem almost indestructable...knock on wood

So would good tuning and meth solve this or do I need more?
