Default t6 turbo for 5.3l

what would be a good t6 turbo for my 5.3l I plan on running a quick spool valve. I need something that will let me tow also. I already have the kit I just need to get a turbo for it.

Why not use a Borg S468 or maybe a S472 if your staying with the 5.3 and T6 flange.

I'm building a 5.3 with KB PT88, so you can always go bigger with motor or turbo.

Go with the S465 if you're staying 5.3.

Ya, a S46x will be fine, just make sure you get it with a 83mm turbine wheel and 1.10 a/r hot side so it will spool descent.

^^ True. My 75 has the 96mm turbine wheel and it still spools slower than I'd like with the quick spool. Remedy: more displacement.

thanks for the responses I already have a s475 but it has the 1.32ar I know that this turbo is to big and I want nearly instant spool for towing. so you guys think a s465 w/1.10 a/r would give me the low end I need to tow a 17 ft fiberglass boat? or is there a smaller option? I dont care about all out racing, I just want to do pretty good at the track and to be able to tow and daily drive.

You're not gonna see instant boost from an S400 lol. Only time I was able to get relatively instant boost was yesterday cruising at like 110mph, and even then it only made like 5psi and had to keep climbing from there. You'll be able to tow with it, but you won't be able to lug around in high gear like a diesel can. The engine just won't be turning enough RPM to keep the turbo moving.

how much better for spooling would a s464 be? remember this will be with a spool valve. here is some info i could find on it:
* High-flow S400 model, with compressor flow over 64 lb/min. Will service 600+HP. Also commonly known as an S464 and S364.
* Wheel Dimensions: Compressor: 63.5 mm inducer, 91.4mm exducer. Turbine: 83.5mm inducer, 74mm exducer. Cast in Inconel 713 for high-temperature operation.
* Housing A/R: Compressor .63, with 5.0" hose-type inlet, and v-band-type discharge. Turbine: 1.10, with 'divided' volute, featuring 'T6-style' turbine inlet flange (4.438"x2.75"), and quick-release v-band discharge flange. Cast in ductile iron.
* This is the model that's dominating the medium-frame turbocharger market. With 'direct-fit' compatibility with existing 'T-' and 'GT' series units.

Did you mean S464? That'll serve your purpose well. While still not being instant boost, it'll be closer to it than the 75.
