might have missed it but why are you swapping from the 6 speed to the 4?

I looked into building a 6l80 when i killed my stock one, but for the price and the hp most places were telling me it would hold it wasnt looking too good. the extra weight of it being in a yukon, lack of billet hard parts.
going to end up being about the same price swapping in 4l80 that has proven it can hold 1500+hp as it would be for a built 6l80 that no one would tell me it will hold more than 8-900hp reliably
tuning it sucked- with the cam/bolt ons i had it good but after the turbo I couldnt get it to shift out of first gear wot. normal driving/shifting it would take off and shift thru the first couple gears till the converter locked up, power downshifts were a mess.

Hot parts back from ceramic coating....took a little bit of a chance on the company that did it and the color lol. Happy with the finish though, its growing on me. It seems to reflect a lot of light and looks almost pale red in sunlight, other times it's a rich maroon kinda color. Not sure what's going to happen after some time/heat cycles

latest issue.. keeps kicking the belt off when driving it hard. can seem to drive it "normal" and it stays on. comes off at any/random rpm not just 6k+ if im into it
its all stock truck spacing stuff but going to check all the alignment tomorrow, had the power steering pulley off from swapping to hydroboost, and recently put on a new tensioner and belt. assuming its not an alignment problem - is there a better tensioner to use ls3/l99/lsa? would an ATI balancer help?

You must have an alignment issue. My stock tensioner sees 68-7000 rpm on mine.

Agreed. I went through the same thing and had the same thoughts, but it turned out to be an alignment issue.
