Default Tc76/sts?

Anybody tried a TC76 ball bearing turbo on a STS kit with a 6.0L? I am running a MP70 now and I want to step up so I'm not pushing the turbo past it's limits. Any clue on how it would spool compared to the mp70 since it is a ball bearing?

From what I have read the MP76 will do you fine. The ball bearing center housing is not really required. Now if you have lots of dough then it won't hurt either.
Lets hear what the other guys think.

What hot side are you planning to run? Do you have a .81 A/R with the MP70?

I am looking at the ball bearing turbo because I have some lag with STS kit.

I'm running a .96 housing on the mp70 now but I have a .68 and .81 sitting here that I could try. I started off with the .81 but it felt like it was choking up the 6.0L on the top end so I switched. I'm thinking of running the tc76 BB with a .81 housing to get it to spool faster but I don't want to sacrifice the top end. What do you guys think?

Try running header wrap right up to the turbo. It will act like one size smaller housing.

I am planning on trying a 76 with a .96 but I am a little worried about lag. I can bolt it up to my .81 as well but I am wondering if it will spool the 76 as well as the .96. I think I will end up trying them both and hoping one will work to my liking. Mine is my DD so top end is not my main concern but hoping for lots under the curve.

I went from a t67 to a t76 bb turbonetics. Moved the turbo under the cab, about 16" closer to the front. Spool time was about the same. The tc76 should spool up nearly identical to the 70 in the same location.

I have wrapped the exhaust all the way back and I have a turbo blanket on the way. The lag isn't that bad with the mp70 but I'm wondering how much difference there would be with a 76mm.

Go with the .81 housing. Thats the one I had when the turbo was under the truck. I have switched to a .96 now that the snail is under the hood.

That's what I'm hoping for. I don't mind the spool time now but I don't want it to get any worse.
