The physical design of bw compressor wheels plays a much bigger part in their increased airflow then their housing size... jus sayin

Very very true. But also the 2" outlet on the on3, turbinetics, mp, and a few others is much more restrictive that the giant outlets on the bw, garrett, and cx gt45

Its not nearly as big of a restriction as you would think. The outlets are properly sized based on the output of the compressors.

Ok let's see here. I'm about sold on this idea, but I don't want to wait till 4500 rpm to spool. The tc78 use to spool on the 5.3 going up hills with a load. However I noticed the 6L doesn't. I guess it just doesn't need to and the loads weren't big enough. So it doesn't seem that I would need the turbo for towing like I use to buy I still want a descent spool time in the streets. My goal when said and done had always been a right around 1000hp all wheel. Now with the t6 housing would the big turbine wheel spool good? Can you get part throttle boost out of it like I do now or does it take way more rpm and throttle to do?

A lot more goes into making a 1000hp setup than just a bigger turbo. A turbo big enough to do that you will not like on the street.

^this

1000hp street vehicle is an idea thrown around too often, without thought given to overall drive ability. Why not just keep making power till it feels right or its no longer fun to drive...

i'm not saying 1000 all the time, thats what a boost controller is for. i figure 10psi daily would like i run now is good. well its actually 7 since i went to the 6L but i think that due to the huge hole my wife found in the intercooler. there will be a cam and head swap soon. i really want that holley intake but i don't want to loose too much low end.

It seems impossible to find a good map for these. Looks like the map doesn't even start until about 12 psi.

Thats because the performance is so bad at low pressure ratios they dont even publish that data, or may not even test there. These turbos are not meant to run only 10psi, they like being 20+. Can you do it, sure, but the turbo is not happy about.

Even with a boost controller on a 1000hp turbo, it will still be laggy running at low boost.

You want a 1000hp street machine, do like I'm doing with my new project, 800hp street turbo setup (mine is gonna be twins for the bling ), then 200hp of N2O to GO!
