time for a new turbo help Mr decide..
Alright the time has come for a new turbo, I thought I had my mind made up but there's so many choices im about to pull my hair out! Right now I have a magnum 76mm bb p trim, 64.5-72 ex wheel. My setup is a stock 4.8 head studs and a 212-212 cam. I really don't want to run a trans brake if I don't have to, and converter will be decided once the turbo is on.
Ok I've decided I want a bw unit, t4 1.00ar 83mm wheel, now for the cold side IM stuck between a 72 and 75, race cover?? Bullit wheel?? Both add a big chunk of change to the turbo and IM kind of on a budget. Also what will the race cover do to spool time? Faster or slower? Will the 72 with a race cover spool better then a standerd 75?
I've pretty much set a goal of 800rwhp. So i want to know the compressor can make in 900-950 hp range

Little worried about spool time with the small 4.8. They seem a little laggy even on the 5.3s from what I've seen. Foose04 has the bullit wheel and claimed his was still pretty dead on the street, I don't expect it to be great but just trying to make the best out of it.

Yeah I cot the thread over on tech about that, sounds like a good piece for the price! IM just a little concerned about how long they will last and perform compared to the bw. If they would of been out longer I may jumped on it. Mines 95 percent street truck and by the numbers I think it might have worse street manners then the s475

No it wont because the s475 has a way bigger exhaust side, unless you go with the T4 housing and 83/75mm turbine. The bw would prolly outlast this one but you can get 2 of these for the price of a T4 s475

Yeah this is true, and yeah I was planning in getting the t4 be. Keep us posted on how how it does I might use that on other builds later on. But I think I wanna stick with a bw unit for now.

Should work well for your 4.8, but I would opt for the cast BW compressor. Recent tests have shown that the cast BW wheel makes more power than the billet batmowheel. Plus it will save you a little coin. I would also go with the 1.10 ar instead of the 1.0
